Yarn and Cuppa 2024

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families were invited to the 2024 MPS Yarn and Cuppa afternoon on Wednesday 13 March.

Students, families and teachers enjoyed the chance to share food, music, art and games together while discussing their goals for their children at MPS in 2024. These discussions lead teachers in writing Personalised Learning Plans that include cultural, social and academic goals. Student and family voices are vital in making sure these goals are individualised to reflect the interests of each child. Goals are reviewed and/or adjusted throughout the year. Students are encouraged to choose their own way of celebrating once a goal is achieved in the hopes that this will encourage them to work towards something they believe in.

This year MPS students were involved in the creation of a video that tells the 2024 Yarn and Cuppa story.
